I used to use Nero all the time. It got a bit bloated and other programs like Roxio were bundled with PCs from OEMs. Also, if you just want to burn CDs and DVDs, there are a number of good, free burning programs out there (CDBurnerXP, InfraRecorder, etc.).
Apparently, Nero has gotten the word. They aer now offering a free version of their Nero 9 software. It’s a basic version that simply burns and copies CDs & DVDs. To use the “advanced” features of Nero 9, you must upgrade.
I’ll be trying it out later. I always preferred Nero’s interface to Roxio’s. Nero’s was always more advanced where Roxio was intended to be as simple as possible.
