How to deal with the Firefox extension installed by Microsoft

You might recall I posted last Tuesday about a "stealth” extension the Microsoft installed in the Firefox browser:

Well, it turns out the MS has finally provided an “official” fix. It’s in a Knowledge Base article and will turn on the “Uninstall” button for the .NET Framework Assistant.

The word is that this will be included in a “future” Windows Update.
