If you are considering trying out W7, you might wonder if your system can run it. General advice is that if you can run Vista, you can run W7. You might want to think about adding a bit more memory (2GB is the recommended minimum, but 3GB is better), but that's about it.
There is an application from Microsoft that will attempt to check it out for you. It's beta, so no iron-clad guarantees, but it works pretty well.
