"And now for something completely different!"

I saw the Star Trek (ST) movie yesterday. In one word..AWESOME!!! I've been a fan since ST:TOS (The Original Series). I started losing interest in TV with ST:Voyager and the movies once the cast of ST:TNG (The Next Generation) took over.

I was very leery of tinkering with the original Roddenberry ST universe. However, J.J. Abrams has done a terrific job. The actor who played Spock (Zachary Quinto) is the guy who plays "Syler" on Heroes. He is absolutely amazing. You buy immediately that he is a young Spock. Sulu, Checkov, Bones, Uhura and Scottie are all there.

While they changed a lot (no spoilers here), there is a lot of continuity with the original series. They added a lot of "insider" gems that Trek fans will love ("Dammit, Jim. I'm only a doctor"). Yet folks who never saw ST will have a great time.

This is, by far, the best ST movie yet. The action, special effects, acting and plot are terrific. You all should go see it.
