Windows XP's System Restore tool

One of the most under-used features of Windows XP/Vista/7 is System Restore. It’s a double edged sword. On the one hand, it can save you from a situation where you’ve messed up the configuration by installing a program and uninstalling won’t fix it. On the other hand, it can take up enormous amounts of space (up to 12% of the hard drive) if you don’t change the defaults.

Here’s an article by Greg Shultz on Tech Republic on the 10 things you should know about this tool. It’s very useful and has a lot of good info, especially on how to clean it up and reduce the space used.
