Web attack that poisons Google results gets worse

A news article from Network World highlighted a growing attack (known as "Gumblar") that inserts links to malware sites into Google searches. This highlights the importance of:
  1. Being careful of clicking on any link that goes to a site you've never heard of
  2. Having your computer and software fully patched and up to date security software.

The article says at the end: "Security experts say that if you're using a fully-patched system with up-to-date security software, you should be protected from these attacks. To date, they've worked by hitting the victim with malicious PDF or Flash files. "
