A huge waste of disk space is often having multiple copies of the same file. It can also Increase the size and time of backing up your computer
Finding these files can take a lot of time. There are several programs out there that are intended to do this task. I just ran into a free one that seems to work well, fast and can access network drives as well as local files. It’s called Auslogics Duplicate File Finder (catchy title, eh?). It has the option to select the type of file as well as ignoring files smaller than xx KB/MB/GB…
I just tried it on a network drive with 94 GB of data and told it to ignore files smaller than 1MB. It finished in about 1 minute….
